If you’re a classic film lover or someone who indulges themselves in the whimsies and glamour of Old Hollywood, you’ve probably heard of the web series Karie Bible hosts called Hollywood Kitchen! Featuring a variety of “themes,” scholars, descendants of the stars, and more, these episodes bring you unparalleled access to recipes, stories, and entertainment that, otherwise, would only be available through the occasional book release.
Hollywood Kitchen bases each episode around a vintage recipe that has been found in magazines or books that a particular classic icon has shared from their own kitchens. One aspect that is quite interesting to watch and learn is what sort of interesting dishes were served and savored through the years. For example, the highlighted recipe in an episode on Ginger Rogers was a grape mint punch and a peanut parsley sandwich. An unheard-of combination in today’s time.
Think of your favorite classic Hollywood film star. Chances are, Karie knows an expert or relative and has recorded an hour-long conversation where you can learn even more about them. Our favorite episodes to watch include recipes and fun stories about legends such as Theda Bara, Ava Gardner, Joan Crawford, and Marlene Dietrich.
A super fun way to be involved and get your own questions answered by experts on these stars is through Facebook! Each episode is live-streamed at the time of recording on Karie Bible’s Facebook page!
Unable to be present at the time of recording? Not a problem! Hollywood Kitchen episodes are uploaded immediately afterward onto YouTube. Even more, recipes are posted on Karie’s website for your convenience to try for yourself at home.
Bible works incredibly hard to bring this unique entertainment into your home. If you’d like to show some extra support and enjoy some fun extras, join her over on Patreon!
